I'm not sure this is the right area for this post but I wondered if anyone here goes metal detecting? I love precious metal collecting and talked to a man at Barnes and Noble the other day that goes and does this every weekend. He said he has found many good old coins and the hobby has paid for itself. Just wondering thanks

I metal detect. Never been out searching specifically for "medals", usually looking for coins.
Rest in Peace

I "coin shoot" but I've certainly found far more roofing nails than coins. But that's a good thing - most of them were removed from where I park my car. I probably saved more money by avoiding tire repair or replacement than I've pulled out of the ground so far. I still get a thrill every time I hear the "dime chime", though.

You realize we have a whole forum dedicated to detecting, right?

I do, but mainly gold prospecting here in California and the deserts of Arizona with my White's GMT. Always wanted a coin machine though.

Sometimes I wonder if there are to many forums and sub forums here and people are basically sort of lazy. So to actually have to scroll through them all, they just post anywhere.
Or how about a Forum that explains how many forums there are here. OPPPSSS I think I just found that at the top of the page.

There are definitely a lot of forums here but I am starting to get the hang of it, sorry for the inconvenience.

The whole "medal" thing seems senseless now that I have fixed the typo.

I use an ACE250 and Scorpion Gold Stinger. Clad hunter big time. Not much luck with the old coins though.

Now that throwbackid is aware of the metal detecting forum, I am going to move this topic there for more feedback.
