Found this today. Looks like most of the copper coating is missing. You can see the transition on the rim from copper to zinc. Looking at the pictures, is the coin in the state it should be in if the copper is not on the coin? (IE, pitted).

Who would take the time and trouble to "make" something like this and then put it into circulation?

Looking at the last shot, it looks like that one was "whizzed" with a dremel tool! I vote definite Post Mint Damage.

That coin has seen acid and tooling. It is damage.

The same guys that counterstamp,dremmel,acid dip,color, and generally screw up other coins.Boredom I guiess.

It does look "whizzed",,did you make up that term?Perfect discrption that should be added to the glossary,,

Whizzed is a term that's much older than I am. It describes any coin that has been buffed to look uncirculated. A fake cartwheel is applied, usually by a rotary buffer. Especially under a loupe these are obvious.

This is not a whizzed coin. The bumpy surface is evidence of acid.
