Im going to keep track of what I find in circulation for one year. I'm only going to keep track of die varieties and major errors. I will be going through cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars. April 5th of next year I will stop.

Ambitious and appreciated...however, die cracks, chips, clash marks, and the like will drive you nuts trying to keep - or keep track of all of them. They are very common and aren't really considered errors.

Major errors would be more like broadstruck coins, indents, brockages, struck through (large obstructions), and stuff like that. It would certainly help to keep your list smaller (and more useful).

Im not really keeping track of die cracks. I will keep track of major die clashes and chips. The mild stuff isn't going to be recorded. MM varieties I will only keep track of the major seperations.

OK ... hoping you can keep the energy up during the dry spells.

Looking forward to whatever you post.

Maybe this is something I should do too...I have no idea what I find in a year.

It would probably be more work to keep up with tha I have time for. I went through nearly 30,000 coins in the past month.

I've put all of my finds for the past six months in a separate case just to see what I came up with when I started some serious roll searching.Maybe I'll total them after a year and post...sounds like a pretty cool idea. Not sure I have the patience for a running total.

All I found in this bunch of 500 Cents was a 2010 1DEO-Unlisted trail die.

CENTS: 3000
Die Varieties:
DDO: 1995 1DO-001
Trail Dies: 2010 1DEO-unlisted

Heres a picture of the 2010 trail die. I will also be putting pictures of the coins I find in this post in the future finds.
Forgive me for the blurry picture had to hold the camera by hand to get the right angle. Its not easy to hold a camrea still.

Man! You are ambitious. I go through @ 500 cents a day and their is no way I would keep track of the stuff I find. It's hard enough searching that many cents in a day. Good luck with your endeavor. I will watch this thread. WOLF

I got a nice little die clash n change today. If this coin was newer the die clash would of been stronger. The second photo I did a closeup because you can actually see the detail of the pillars.
