They had a story on the production of the $20 on the CBC National News.

I'd say the likenesses on the $20 are a heck of a lot better than The Royal Mint's offerings. The blue Swarovski element (a la the engagement ring) is a crafty touch. That could prove popular in other Commonwealth countries.

I just ordered the $20 Fine Silver Coin, but only because I've collected all the Swarovski Crystal coins that the RCM has released to date.

At least the likenesses seem more accurate that the ones on The Royal Mint version.

There could be a lot of disappointed customers if the 25cent turns out to be as pixelated as the bird series.

Nah. You want it pixelated - a real clear picture would be too scary.

You know, I was thinking of getting that just due to the fact alot of people wouldn't like the coin, and maybe somewhere down the road the numis value will increase :P

I honestly don't know how a photo will translate to the actual image on a coin. It could easily look like a sticker.
Couldn't NCLT be less concerned with issues like minting speed and stacking and strike up better details?

I met Prince Charles once--he's actually very informal and friendly to avg. people like me. He's more of a geek than scary.

Do you guys think this silver coin is a good investment? I'm afraid that price tag 110CAD+shipping is a bit too high and mintage is fairly high too - 25,000.

Some think that silver will reach $80 or even $130 per ounce.

Silver may be a good investment.

Silver may go up, but this coin is already priced like 2.5 times the price of silver ounce. The question remains: should I buy this coin?
By the way, the mint just reduced its price by $5. Looks like they have hard time selling it.

I would have a problem buying a coin glorifying the wedding of someone who somehow thinks they are better than everyone else.
