Other than purchasing them (I will as a last resort, if I don't find any) what kinds of places would have I have a better chance of being handed newer ATB Quarters in change? For those that have already found this years quarters in circulation, where have you found them?

Real simple.... you don't wait for them "in change", at all. This happens, of course, but if you're wanting to collect them, that isn't how you go about it. Go down to your bank and ask for 5 rolls of quarters......or 10 rolls....or whatever you can afford. (the more the better--a whole box of quarters costs $500.00.... a little steep for many folks). Bring them home and search through the rolls.....you will eventually find brand new Brilliant Conditioned ATB's (and others) in these rolls. Some rolls will have more than others....some won't have any at all.....it's hit or miss. But if you search enough rolls you'll find all you want. If you wait until they just "arrive" in your hands from the days pocket change.....the condition of some of them will be poor.....and low mintage ones, you may NEVER see. Many folks do collect highly circulated Ultra Modern coins.....but IMO, and for "my" interests, I prefer to get any of "the new stuff", IN THE BEST CONDITION POSSIBLE. (reminder though, you won't likely find "both" Mints - P&D - though, just depends on where you live with which Mint you find. Generally, Denver is all west of the Mississippi river and Philly is all east of there.)

That's a great question. I hate paying 3 times face for what should be a circulating coin. If I'd known how these were going to be distributed this way, I wouldn't have bought a binder to collect these.

I believe a lot of people were spoiled by the Statehood Quarter series being released to the banks as they came out. I wish they would do the same for the America the Beautiful coins.

The bank rolls is great way to do it, I found ten rolls of fresh ATB gettysburg quarters in one of my boxes and I kept them.

Thanks for your replies guys. When I was collecting the State Quarters I didn't even know you could specially order them from the bank. I wouldn't have mattered much anyway because I would get the newest design around 2, 3 weeks or so after they came out. Guess I have to keep searching them rolls for the park quarters, and if I'm still missing some designs, I'll give in and purchase them. I started collecting them so I'm determined to finish this series!

Quote: I didn't even know you could specially order them from the bank. It was not that you can specially order them, you could just walk in and buy them right off the counter! They always received the new releases the week they came out.

I just got my Glacier National Park mint wrapped rolls in the mail today. Since I don't open the boxes, I still haven't seen one in hand yet.
