Do ebay names really matter?

Im trying to think of an ebay name to stick with since I'm just starting out.
Is there such a thing as a "mature name"? vs a childish sounding name? should it be easy to remember? I dont think I want it to sound like a business such as "Nicks-collectibles" or something. Besides a few coins, I'm thinking of selling a Camera Lens or two, maybe some old CDs or LPs, and some old Machining(machinist) tools like taps, dies and some great metal bits(Reamers). Maybe some collectible Avon stuff as well, but I doubt that will sell as ebay is probably full of it...

Im thinking maybe just "Cali-Nick" or "collegegrad2004" do those sound ok, or make me seem too young?

I think the name can reflect whatever you want it to cali-nick doesn't sound too bad. Realize it's not a huge deal changing it later.

Cali_Nick was taken, I had to go with Cali-Nick
Ok Ill see in a week or two if the name works out. I have to figure out what to sell first, I think Ill practice on an old CD or Avon Beer Stein first. Haha.

i like cali-nick better, you do actually want to sound mature. I should remove (or at least update) my age of '20' from a few years back, but most people probably dont check my profile.

I've never seen anything to suggest that name matters, although feedback certainly does, especially when it comes to coins.

Look up my ebay username - it's available on this forum. I do OK. That should answer your question.

It's more about the quality of your offerings, the quality of your auction writing, and the quality of your service.
