Quote: But the reading for the kings' throne is usually the Red Book, plus I keep an extra version in my glove box when I go "hunting"... So what are you hunting for with a Red Book? Quote: Perhaps I should have saved all the money I have spent on the collection over the years and just given books on general numismatics away as Christmas presents! (I say that in jest!). Why in jest? Every year I give a US Proof set, a US Mint set, one Red Book to many people for Chistmas Presents. Started that about 20 years ago with about 20 people. Since then many of them have either moved far away or just sort of passed on, deceased that is. Now down to usually 8 or 10. If you think about it those are presents that you don't have to worry about the fit, size, color, not wanted, wrong styles, for males or females, age, etc. What you get is what you get.

Just Carl, you can add me to your Christmas list if you want, I will appreciate it greatly :)
I forgot to add that; one nice thing about uploading photos to this forum is I can access it and view some of my coins while at school or work!

Wow since there seems to be such concern over the word, guess I'll have to respond. It was given in good humor and facetiously. Obviously it overshot its mark.

I keep all my better coin in a large safe deposit box at the bank, but then I work at the bank so I can look in it everyday if I want. I usually have a few, 20-30, coins at home at a time that I am activly doing something with like trying to upgrade and make sure the new coins are a good match for the set. I have also been on a long term project to scan every coin I consider a "keeper" into a digital record book and then I will probably sell off the rest to get money for some new ones. Since I have collected coins for over 45 years and never sold more than a dozen or so, I have a large quantity that need to be purged or given away.

I look at mine everyday. Not everything but I have a nice display that I have some of my nicest coins out. I do pull coins at least every other day as I still have rolls of Indians,Lincolns and buffalo's to sort and my albums always need some organizing especially with new purchases.

Most of my coins are in a SDB. I have coins that for some reason I have on my dresser or my book case. These I look at daily. The coins in albums or in boxs a couple times a month.

Since I live in lovely Los Angeles, only everytime I go to my SDB. I do have some nice photos on my PC of my favorites. I enjoy them that way too.
