On Monday a longtime silver connection of mine emailed me that she had 500 silver Roosies that she wanted $1500 for. I managed to get her down to $1,350 and I was fairly happy about paying about 10% under melt value. When I made the ebay rounds last night I saw a lot that interested me. A mix of 1 oz silver rounds to walking haves in good shape at best , 10 or 11 Peace dollars common dates some in good shape, 30 something pre 64 quarters and some dimes. I had a melt value without the 1 oz coins at around $900 bucks. I emailed him for a buy it now about 30 minutes later he emailed me a price of $350, I was shocked. I thought he meant to type $850 so I asked for a detailed invoice to pay with, which he complied. After I paid for this $350 lot he asked if I wanted anymore dimes as he had 11 rolls and some spares. Thinking is this really to good to be true, I was cautious but in the end I took the 550 dimes for $1k a $1,400 total with shipping. He doesn't have a big ebay history like a 70 feedback but he has been on there for over 4 years. I paid with my CC via paypal to take advantage of the Venture Cards double points and a $28 award bringing the total down to $1,372. I am not gonna lie I am a little nervous but I took all the appropriate steps to protect myself. He is paypal verified so supposedly the money I sent is protected against fraud. I found him on FB to and his story does seem to pan out, we will see.

Sounds like a great score! I liked the deal I got a few weeks ago, 1130 Rosies and Mercs for $0, plus 78 War Nickels and 520+ silver halfs all for $0. I was very lucky my father in law used to be a coin dealer.

Wow Coinut, that is a great deal. I just got confirmation he sent a 5 1/2 pound package sent priority from him to me. I just don't know why he charged me so little?

Yeah, a deal like that could be called a... steal.

They might be coming out better than you think on what they have in them. I bought 579 roosevelts and mercurys for 2.25 each recently and quarters and Kennedy halves at 6 and 12 each. I got from Same guy 1 oz rounds for 35 and can get more at that price or slightly higher. He knows silver over 40 and content being ahead at his prices

Yeah, everything seems to be on the up and up right now. He sent me a photo of the usps insurance receipt and the actual cash receipt from the Post Office dated today. He has responded to all my emails very promptly so I am hopeful. Total melt value of the thing he says he is sending is $2868 and I paid around $1400 so I am happy for now. I love hunting for cheap silver.
