I just purchased the Red Book at Barnes and Nobles. Is it the one with the spiral on the side of it? It doesn't say a year either. It has a 2011 copyright. So I am guessing it is a 2011? All the best, ~james

Doesn't the spiral version of the Red Book have the year in giant numbers on the front? Did you buy this a used book?

Mine has a huge 2011 on the cover.
2012 comes out in just a couple weeks or sooner!

Hmmm...that's odd. All the editions I've seen have the year on the front.

I think the professional edition is on it's second edition. It is usually almost double the cost of the ringed version, has a lot more info in it and does usually sell out fast. Note on that link you made it explains all about the professional edition and also, below that is the cheaper $14.95 version most people use. Not sure but I think Whitman is attempting to create some new books for the nuts that collect the Red Book to try collecting. OOPPPs, I collect the Red Book. So far I've never even seen the Leather bound version. As to your book, keep it. It is sort of the Cadalac of the Red Books.

amida17 - from what I understand, and I may be incorrect, for one thing the Professional Edition does not list the lower grades as far as prices - the book is intended for more of the seasoned collectors that are not concerned with the values of the lower grade coins.
If I am incorrect with this, someone please correct me as I do not want to offer any incorrect information, and please accept my sincere apology.
