So I just called my Coin shop and here are there rates tell me if they're Good or Bad.
Will buy Wheat Cents for 0.03 (Regardless of how worn) Mixed Wheat Cents Sold in bags of 1000 for $50.
Have you seen any deals better than this? Are these good rates?

i'd deffinitly consider that searched if thats what the bags really are because he is deffinitly not going to be putting a 1909 s inside of a bag of 1000 for $50......but to buy every wheat for .03 is pretty darn good if you ask me....id sell my searched wheats for .03 a piece!

Great buy price. How good the sell price is depends on what you're getting. If he's just unloading his 40s and 50s P mints, then no, not really a good price. On the other hand, if you're getting a good mix of dates & mms, it's extremely reasonable, even if there aren't any keys.

The prices are in line with the market. That's exactly what my dealer does except he only pays 2.5 cents each.
Dealer bags can be quite good. Most dealers take in lots of wheats, only quickly scan them for key dates, and then dump the rest into a bag for resale. Just look at the coins Scotty has havested from his dealer....AWESOME!

I buy a lot of wheats, but you can take or leave this advice. My local coin shop quit buying wheats awhile back, but I recently made a deal with them to buy everything they get in. They buy for .02 and sell to me for .025 (1940+) and .03 (pre-1940). About every month or so I pick up bucket full.
You can almost always assume that they have been searched for key dates and major doubles.
1000 for $50 runs .05 each, that is a little steep if you are getting 40s and 50s that most likely have been searched.

I aggree. If the bag has most only 40-50 P mint, then the price seems steep. If it is mixed, then it could be a great deal!

Those prices are in line with what they buy/sell for here in the Madison, Wisconsin area.

The coin shop by me sells 1000 wheats for $50.00 (5 cents each) or 5000 for $245.00 (4.9 cents each). I'm not sure how much they purchase them for. I'm also not sure how good the mix is either. I was thinking of purchasing 1000 in the next few weeks to check them out and add to my in-process full date circulated roll collection.
