mkoenig - While plenty of coins are toned artificially (by any of numerous means) which hurts the value instead of enhancing - that's not what they are referring to with yours. Yours seems to be naturally toned, but prior to the toning, it was likely polished. That's why, despite the wear on the coin, it still seems to be pretty shiny. Natural luster on a Morgan has a cartwheel look to it, but starts to wear off as a coin is in circulation.
