Anyone care to verify...feet log comparision to all other years including 07 08 09 10......... also noticed all 2006 have a fairly large dot on the cheek and stomach
I looked at some of my 2006 nickels. A couple seemed to have the dot but not too sure. Is it possible to get some pics to look at? If not, maybe I can try and photo what I think may by the dots you are talking about. This is a good web site to get info for what you are asking about.
Hi and welcome. Ken Potter just wrote a very long and interesting article in the Canadian Coin News. Doubled die reverses common to 2006 Canadian 5 cents. This is a study still in progress, with many varieties that exists. Paraphrasing, It seems that Canada switched to the single squeeze hubbing process, known as restrain hubbing in the late 1970's. This originated from a doubled master die. This would be transferred to the working hub, and in turn, to all the working dies and coins made from them. He uses the term ''centralized'', meaning look in the middle. All 2006 dated 5 cent coins display die doubling and tripling on multiple design elements.
