I have a 1610 from Sweden. However could we still see your interesting 1611, Litotes?

Nice to see we are going strong again :-) Already at 1611, with 1610 promised. Here is my 1611 as promised. It comes from my "Unusual denominations"-collection (and doubles in my OFEC-collection). It is not every day you see 18½. It is, in fact a 1/18½ Thaler from Holstein-Schauenburg-Pinneberg, a German state.

This is an unusual denomination! How did they calculate the right change without calculator is mystery.

I see RUDOL.II.D.G.BO.JS.A.611
< Rudol(phus).II.D.(ei).G.(ratia).Bo.(hemia).?.A(rgent?).(1)611 >
The ruler and style of this coin are both consistent with the early date, although I cannot translate the entire legend.

1/18½? That's a pretty unusual number, let alone unusual denomination. Is that supposed to mean 2/37? What's next? A bajillion? 3 phi? -4½/i?

Quote: It is not every day you see 18½. No, it is not! How interesting--thanks for sharing Litotes! It's also interesting to compare the differences between coins when die work was largely done by hand.
