Many wonderful coins here. Keep up the good work! Now we need a 1613. I do not have any of those, but I have an interesting 1611 if we can make it that far.

-shameless bump- It's terrible to see this great thread falling into disuse. I just added a few more early pieces to my cigar box hoard, from the local coin show going on through Saturday. But alas, none are the date needed to move this thread along. I just may have to go back tomorrow to see if anyone has a sixteen thirteen. There were several dealers at this smallish show with remarkable spreads of medieval and ancient coins. I'm tempted to show a few of the gems I acquired, especially a 1700's coin from Malta that is just *awesome* in every way. If the o/p cares to chime in regarding the future of the thread he started, that would be wonderful about now.. for it seems we have hit another wall, sad to say..

I think the OP may have forgotten about (or given up on) this thread. Their signature: Quote: Have you checked the "How Far Back Can We Go?" thread lately? We currently need a 1684. Last time I checked, we are way past 1684.

I have had this coin for many years. I have been looking for it. I figured that I had given it away in a Secret Santa and just didn't remember. Then I found it while I was putting away a newly purchased piece. It was in with the French Feudals, behind the Lorraine coins.

Nice old copper t360. It must feel great to have all those pieces of history in your own home, and to know that they'll be kept in good condition for a long time.

Not sure if this counts since it's a jetton, Maybe someone out there will know more about it than I do...

Archduke Albert VII of Austria was, jointly with his wife, Isabella Clara Eugennia, sovereign of the Habsburg Netherlands between 1598 and 1621. The so called Eternal Edict of 1611, for instance, reformed the judicial system and ushered in the transition from customary to written law. Other measures dealt with monetary matters, the nobility, duels, gambling, etc.
