This is very interesting piece because on the reverse is some Hebrew in the middle and around: "MONETA NOVA" means NEW COIN in Polish.  |

Do you think the designer of this coin was a supporter of Sigismund (who was deposed by his uncle Karl) or did he simply have sense of humor by giving the obverse a face with two eyes, a nose, a mouth and two ears as the date (9 9).

Litotes, that's ^ a great coin! I have been trying to land one of those for awhile now, but it seems I am fishing in a depleted sea. Fancy a 1596? Here is a 'three brothers' thaler from Saxony. Size= 40mm; probably used as a body ornament at one time.
