I found this dime in a roll. If you look around Roosevelt's face it almost looks like leaves from the Reverse. On the reverse side it looks like there is a partial second torch to the left and like there are extra leaves also. Does anyone have any idea what this is and if it has any value. Thanks!

Looks like a clash with some Strike Doubling, however I'm no expert. Nonetheless, I can say that sure is a cool coin!

Here is a dime die clash position overlay:
Dime---Die-Clash,-Multiple-Torches.

From looking at the overlay it appears this die has been polished to cover the previous clash marks which explains the different areas affected. But the area of the extra torch to the left may be too small to be an extra one. It does look interesting though. I would hang on to it for now till you know for sure or a coin to add to you educational file for safe keeping.

I see no clash marks. What I do see are numerous die erosion pits which have left "blebs" (a.k.a. "patches") on both faces. Die erosion pits sometimes develop in late die states, possibly as a result of de-carborization of the surface steel.

If this is die erosion pits would they appear as raised areas on the coin?

Correct. That is what you are seeing on your coin. The field was polished to remove a clash and now there is a raised area where it would have been flat before the clash.

So is this coin worthless, except for the ten cents value?
