I was helping a friend tear down an old shed in his back yard and in one of the walls it had a canvass bag of these.

That being said what do you think the grade is and what do you think the value of such coin in the grade you think it is in.

I'm thinking its F. Circulated Peace dollars of common dates are currently going for around $33 (right around melt - maybe just barely above). Interestingly, you could trade up for an uncirculated one for just a few more dollars.

I will say this is a very weakly struck coin with moderate wear. I would grade him VF-25

I am guessing if your friend found a canvas bag full of these there will be 1000 coins in there and he just did pretty well on his find because even in circulated grades as the one you are showing is in 33x1000 is a pretty good haul of a find when you didn't known it was there. Every Peace dollar is 90% silver just like a Morgan dollar and they are all some type of VAM and some of them can be worth more than others (even though I have no clue about Peace VAM's). There are some dates that are worth more than others like the 1921 and 1928 so I would search them if not for anything else for those dates

Yeah, what Bryan said.
Personally, I'd knock down the rest of the walls & see if there are any more bags.
That's a pleasant reward for an afternoon's work.
Heck, that's a pleasant reward for a month's work!

I can't see any doubling on it but also can't definitely say there is none either. It looks kind of flattened from wear to me
