Hi all, I sent a USPS priority mail envelope with 2 money orders in it to a member here as I was paying for something. I sent the priority mail envelope on the 11th with delivery confirmation. It is now the 16th and the person I sent the envelope to has told me he has not received my envelope. Here is what the tracking numbers say: http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSIn...06449%208072Anyone know whats going on here? Why is it taking so long and nothing is showing up such as any other tracking information. Thanks!

For some that don't want to click on the link:
Label/Receipt Number: 0310 1230 0000 6449 8072 Expected Delivery Date: April 14, 2011 Class: Priority Mail® Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™ Status: Acceptance
Your item was accepted at 11:54 am on April 11, 2011 in HONOLULU, HI 96820. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
WEIRD how in 5 days it only says Accepted on so and so time and date.

I hope he gets them Monday. With delivery confirmation you should see an update when package is delivered. Its been my experience that with Delivery Confirmation you will probably not see any of the steps along the way.
Accepted on the 11th, probably placed in cart to be sorted, maybe sorted on 12th. If its going anywhere off the islands, it will take time to ship it. Then the package is taken to the local post office for sorting, then it may be delivered probably the following day. If its not delivered Monday, you may want talk to your post office.

fuzzy317, thanks, I too hope the member here gets it on monday as they have been patient. Funny thing is I sent a envelope at that same date and time to Cali and the member got it a few days ago but this one is acting funny.

maybe talking to your post office Monday would not be out of the question.

In my experience the post office is really bad about scanning these things. I've had several incidents where the (thankfully honest) recipient received the item without it showing up in the tracking system at all (i.e. it looked like I never sent it). I've finally started asking the post office employees to do the acceptance scan while I watch.
I agree with Fuzzy317, it's probably just taking time to get to the mainland and sorted.

I have seen accepted when it hasn't been delivered before also but I think accepted just means it has made it to Hawaii not that its been "delivered" yet because if I am not mistaken that is what it will say once it has been actually delivered to the person it was sent to. I know it usually takes a couple more days to send to Hawaii and Alaska even for priority. I agree the 11th till now is a pretty long time to be sitting and not delivered yet so I would probably ask the post office about it as well Monday just to see whats going on. It may have been scanned as accepted as it was put on the plane heading that way but be worth asking anyway

priority is nothing more than overpriced first class. I've had a first class envelope take 30 days to go 420 miles across the US.
unless they've changed their policy, the po won't doanything for 30 days unless you use express, then it's a week, IIRC.

Bryan1315, "accepted" only means that the originating post office took possession.

For the record, DC is not tracking. I shows when an item is delivered, and that's all.
For this reason, I don't provide DC info unless there is an extended problem. People plug in the DC number, see the acceptance date, then assume the item is still sitting in HI, when it fact, it may be sorted and sitting across town, ready to be delivered the next business day.

Should have arrived on the 16th. Its usually 4-5 working days. Sometimes a first class letter with coin(s) will get to/from HI in three working days. From my experience, if it is delayed a lot, then its a sorting problem or the address street number was written wrong and its sitting at the P.O. In either case, the problem is usually rectified soon enough.
