In England, we would refer to these pennies as "Bronze", issued from 1860 to 1967 (plus 1970 in sets). By "large", we would think of the copper ones, 1825 to 1859 with a very rare issue of 1860 over 1859; these copper coins are considerably larger than the bronze ones.
The bronze ones of Victoria are a very complex type to collect of you are trying for every year and variation. Most years are available in "everyday" condition, but bear in mind that some of them were in circulation for over a century; a few years are virtually impossible to obtain.
Look carefully at the date on your 1918 examples as you might find that you have one with "H" or "KN" mintmarks (Heaton and Kings Norton private mints).
Bill.
