mishap-coins, I looked on the coppercoins website.ref:pennylovers link and found several(+)examples here is a link for a 2004 P cent with the 7th column doubled with additional features doubled also *note knees and a foot ..they are doubled dies in most experts opinions..http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds.values goes from $1.00(fine) to $20.00 (MS65).i mention the additional features, being doubled, in reference to your pictures; your pics;look to show additional doubled die effects.hopefully you will 'pick them up ' too..see west side of lincoln and the lower base..compare to a 'normal cent' mat help you 'pick up 'the additional doubling.

They are doubled columns - very common and very plentiful out there. I can find one in just about any roll of cents. There have to be close to a hundred different ones for each year out of the past ten. Whether things like this will ever catch on to mainstream collecting interests is about as unlikely as people wanting to collect all of the different very minor Minnesota quarter doubled dies. Not sure that this isn't killing the potential that the variety market has to pick up general interest.

My personal opinion - these are too flyspeck to be collectible. I list them anyway just because there seems to be some specialty directed interest in them for the time being.

To add to what Chuck has said, most of these are minor and common. However, there are a few out there that are interesting and can present a problem in finding out just what the heck went wrong with the hubbing process.

I do have a friend that is cataloguing each and everyone that he gets his hands on and his collection is well over 500. Of course these will never be main stream, but there will be a few that will try for a vast collection of doubled columns and body parts.

Also forgot to mention that John Wexler just did an article for Coin World on this very subject. John was the first expert to make mention of this type doubled die.
