A 1921 D with a Look that I like so much
that I put it in an air tite and began to carry it
so I can look at it more often.

looks like artificial toning caused by heat to me

It may have been heated.
It was in one of those little change purses that have a snap
that shuts it in my aunts closet for close to 30 years
along with some other coins. She noticed the price
of silver on the news last week and remembered she had them
and called and offered them to me first before taking them to
a local coin shop.

the snap purse could have caused the color I guess, not sure since I have never seen one that was stored in one of those for a long period of time before
