Lincoln Wheat Error? - Coin Community Forum

carwarr New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 04/20/2011 11:31 pm I was going through my wheat cents to put in an album and came across this. Look at the last digit of the date. Best pics I could come up with but what do you think caused this? At first, I was thinking it was a 4 but it is too long for that. I don't even know if I should call it a 1951-S, 1954-S, or a 195?-S. At first look, it looked like it was too short to have been a "1" but looking at other 1951 coins, I see that the "1" is quite a bit shorter then the other numbers, and now I can see it that the damage is parallel to the edge, so it must have been coin Rolling Machine Damage. Just getting used to my first cheap 10x loupe and all the detail I can see. I don't know how I ever did without it! Thanks Report this Post to the Staff
