So my birthday is next friday and I told me wife that I really need a decent lamp for my desk to look at my coins. this lamp needs to be able for me to take good overall photos too. If you guys have suggestions and could point me in the right direction. let me know! thanks. also not sure if this is the correct place for this topic. please move if it needs to. thanks!

Might stop by Staples. They have several lamps of various lighting attributes (LED, etc, etc) and some with magnifying glass built in.

I picked up an LED lamp for $11.50 the other day. Has a completely adjustable flexible neck and weighted base. I used it last night....and I like it.

Will take some pictures using this light as a source later on tonight.
