Dollar 1935 I would not recommend removing the coin and testing it because PCGS will not honor their guarantee in that case. I would keep the coin in the holder - that way you retain the guarantee. If it is a counterfeit, it is for now impossible to test. Perhaps if technology improves, a test will become available in the future that can penetrate the plastic holder.
The high costs of and physical limitations of XRF means that only raw coins can be tested. All of the coins currently entombed in
TPG holders are all suspect at this point. Visual clues are simply not enough to guarantee authenticity in most cases.
