I asked this question in this thread in the Ancient forum, but didn't get a response, so I thought I'd try here.

I'm thinking about submitting this coin to NGC Ancients, but I've never sent a coin to a TPG before. Given the plugged hole and the damage in the word LIBERTAS, would they slab this coin, or would it just get returned to me?

Thanks

I don't know how they handle ancients, but if that were a more modern coin, it would get a details grade due to the damage.

Just call or email to their customer support number/address. They should be able to give you a precise answer.

ICG also grades ancient coins. You can check on their policy also.

I don't believe ICG grades ancients anymore, at least that was the case several months ago.
However, ANACS does grade ancients and they charge $35 per coin.
