I live in Sydney where this event took place. There was no way I could get to it. I would have been working, but on the day, I was taking my wife to hospital.

The R.A. Mint was there with with 15,000 examples, which by U.S. standards, is a ridiculously small number of coins. It is highly probable, however that the Mint will release the coin more widely later on.

Obviously, the total number issued will have a critical bearing on the price of the coin in the numismatic after market.

This event is what is called a publicity stunt from RAM marketing department.A nice touch from them trying to excite the public into buying RAM coins,IMO they should have had a booth at the Sydney Royal Easter Show like they used to
No special deal there realistically, the coins will become available in the hundreds of thousands in time

It's a Good publicity stunt.
Pity they didn't prepare and left everything to the last minute as usual.
Now the mint is in a panic with pre orders.

2 eBayers are cashing in on this

At least five million coins will go into general circulation; it might take a month for the first one to appear in your change.
