I found an an interesting MM on this 1978-D. It would seem either MD, repunched or doubled but I can't find anything on coppercoins at all for this year and I still need like a 30K loupe. Best one I have is just 16X. As you can see it's also rotated.

The mint mark is hand punched. It can be in any location under the date and east of the bust at any angle. It happens.

I see what looks like two different layers there, but don't know what it would be. I would put it in a 2x2 and put a question mark on it and hopefully at some time you will find out what it actually is.

The two layers is probably Machine Doubling. You might see it on other places of your coin.
