Irishraider, I've not attempted to grade any coin belonging to someone else; however, using my ANA Grading Standards as my guide,I'm going to test the water with this one.
Obverse - The hairline is defined along the face - the cotton bolls appear to be flat, but the two lines in each are distinct - the lower two cotton leaves are well worn, but not completely smooth - wheat grains are worn flat, and some do merge - minor rim damage - diagonal lines across Liberty's face and neck - cleaned?
Reverse - The breast, neck, and head appear to be well worn with little detail remaining - wear on wing tips as well as edge of wing - the leaves of the wreath show medium to heavy wear - rim damage at 1:00 5:00 and 7:00.
Estimated Grade - F-12.
Ralph
The only thing I'd add is that, like most Morgans, the reverse is of higher grade than the obverse. I see the reverse as VF20, and agree with Ralph on the obverse for a net grade of F12-15.
