Not sure if it was in all the Sat papers but Downies are selling an 'out with the pence and in with the cents' carded set. This includes all the 63/64 pre-decimal coins and the 66 decimals (obviously not all mints, just one of each). All are in UNC (according to the blurb). Maccas catalogue value for this lot is $128. They are selling them for $95 delivered. Seems like an OK deal, especially if you are trying to build up UNC series in bits and pieces from ebay. I'll be buying a set and breaking the coins out of the card!

I guess Downies see this as a loss leader to get more sucker....ummmm.....customers on their mailing list

Hi Shatsi,

It doesn't seem to be on their website. In the same deal (and this may be of more interest to you) is a card called 'Pence to Cents Copper Pack' This just includes UNC 1/2d, 1d, 1c and 2c and is only $12. If you are interested in this email me your home address and I'll get one of these and forward it on to you.

Shatsi,

If you are only interested in the 1c & 2c coins, then try the following web site:

http://oldcoin.com.au/

They offer the following coins for AUD$25.00 total - I took the information from their Australian Decimal Coins section:

26 Different 1c/2c coins.

Australian 1c coins, 1966, 1973, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1987 and 2c coins 1966, 1970, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1989.

All taken from mint rolls, all with mint red, as issued. Usual light bag marks/contacts caused in the minting process, otherwise Uncirculated. Some quite hard to get in original condition, with mint bloom. Catalogue value $70+ (26 coins in total).

I have bought from this company many times before, and they have always been great purchases with no hassles at all. Good luck!

Shatsi. If you are not to fussy on grade of coins, I have nearly a full set of 1c and 2c available to swap. If you would like to do a swap, just e-mail me.

+1 for the Old Coin Company. I've met the guy who runs that shop many times and he's a good guy. In fact I've purchase the very set that Snooba suggested!
