The world will end, in 3 billion years or so when the Sun runs low on fuel and expands path Earth's orbit as a red giant. Color me pessimistic but I seriously doubt there will be humans around then to see it.

I happen to have heard St Peter collects full step Jefferson nickels. He works the toll booth at the Pearly Gates.

I would lovt to meet some of the people who truly believe this stuff and ask them to write me some checks but to date them the day after the supposed "end". If they are right they have nothing to lose. Lets see them put their money where their mouths are

"The world can't end tomorrow - it's already tomorrow in Australia." - Charles Schulz, Peanuts. Not that this logic is much comfort to me over here. Funnily enough, the local billboards here didn't have their proposed date for the Rapture As "May 22". Nor does their website give any indication of the timezone these calculations are supposed to be measured in. But delving deeper into the website, I see it's run by Harold Camping. I can't believe that nitwit is still around and still gaining new followers - he's been calculating and publishing dates for The End Of The World since the 1980s. In his bestselling book "1994?", he told his gullible followers, "there will be no extensions of time... when September 6 1994 arrives... the end has come.". Funny, we must have slept through it. Harold Camping, I dub thee "false prophet".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Just wanna say by to all you folks, I believe it's all over tomorrow. It's been nice knowing you folks and having the odd argument with you. If you don't hear from me Monday morning, you'll know what happened. Glenn

If any of you know anything about what the Bible says,it strictly says, don't listen to any "Date/time setters!" NO ONE can know when that day will be!

Jesus said no one knows the end except for my father so unless this guy is God I could care less about his need to escape this world. If he is not happy here there are many ways to leave this earth without waiting for a specific day. I am a true believer in God but not in lunatics who think they have the answer!!

SHAFTA9a:
Same tough crossed my mind last night such stupidity these death and world end wishers! Did they not read that Israel will be attacked and destroyed and that before this there will be a 3 and a half year peace deal then 3 and a half years of major war....none of this has happened as of yet so there goes May 21st 2011. And where is the Antichrist? I guess Obama must be him...lolllllllllll.....or was it not Osama Bin Laden oh my lord what crazy stuff for nothing humans are so bored. The Antichrist is the one that denies Jesus is the son of God and guess what book does that.

I didn't mean to open a can of worms here.SORRY! This is really not the forum to discuss politics/religion. BUT I had to make a point about these doom and gloom people. I too am a coin collector an enjoy the hobby very much. There's nothing wrong with that. I also have friends who are Christians and fellow collectors. If it sounds like I'm trying to hijack this thread,AGAIN SORRY. That's all. no more posts on this subject. BUT I'LL STILL BE READING WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY

I'm not worried, I'm taking my coin collection with me to the American Ark. I look for a sharp rise in the value of my collection next week. I have plans to go dig through what's left of the Smithsonian next week, I've always wanted an 1804 dollar...
