Looking for opinions on this 1928 Peace. Once again my pictures are not the best. The pics show what appears to be "porosity" but in hand that's a multitude of tiny pits & dings. It weighs in at 26.7 grams on my scale.

After visiting VAMworld & checking out the diagnostics I'm adding some new pictures. I believe this to be the die pair that has the die polish lines in the lower part of the E in LIBERTY. I've also added a few pics that show the damage a little better. I'm fairly certain these pictures are the best I can do. I hope they are clear enough for someone else to confirm(or not) my opinion.

Interesting link. This coin does have a funny look to it in hand. My eyes aren't what they used to be but under magnification I'm not seeing the die polish line the article references. I guess I need to do a little research on the die markers for real coins & get some better pictures.

Appears authentic...what looks like pitting is actually dings and scratches IMHO
though cleaned and scratched the net grade for this collectible coin is VF-30

Hi there everyone. (This is my first time posting on here.) I did so because I too, have recently purchased a 1928 Peace dollar from ebay. After some extensive research, I believe mine to be genuine. The raised die polishing line to the right of the "B" in LIBERTY is present and the weight/diameter are correct. As to yours trdhrdr007, it is a bit difficult to say from just that diagnostic feature. My research tells me that it should look similar to a three pronged fork...it does. If the weight and diameter are good then it's probably real. I am hesitant to post pictures of mine because it is kind of an ugly coin, pitted and with numerous rim dings. Nonetheless, it is genuine and will have to do until I can afford better.

This was another one I sent to ANACS. I don't have it in hand yet but they called it damaged/cleaned & gave it a 50.
