Well, it's a transitional/regular era issue, it has no date of mintage, as most of the transitional/regular coinage at that time doesn't. However, this coin does follow shortly after the end of Empire and rebellion coinage, and those issues were in the mid-1800's. So, maybe, maybe, late 1800's, early 1900's.
Krause lists it a s a rather good-value coin.
Finding errors is really such a niche for Chinese issues, I doubt you will find anything. Yet, there is a variety listed. Actually, a pattern, so rarer.
