I would call this choice BU, I don't believe they made proofs in 1967.

I see detail in the eagles chest. From what I can tell hairlines on George. Looks like the reeded edge looks to be sharp. I'd be happy with this find. How did you come to find this? I found a 1965 Washington in remarkable shape in my pocket change as well. There just are those coins you come across that caught your attention in your change from time to time.

I can appreciate the coin, just because it isn't silver that doesn't mean it isn't a heck of a find
I have been putting together some AU-BU quarters from 65 until the states quarters
it's very very hard from circulation, and they look great when you find them
tons of people hate on the quarters because silver is harder to find when roll searching, and because they think the State Quarters are ugly, dumb, or over minted.

Possibly an SMS escapee? Quarters like that from the mid 60's don't show up all that often, probably because nobody appreciates them. Therefore nobody put any aside. Very nice find; I'd be happy with it.

Isn't SMS and Choice BU basically the same thing, if not explain SMS.

nope, SMS coins are minted specially and are in a higher quality than business strike coins.

and the values are different between SMS coins and business strike coins
