I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on buying silver at the $40.00 per oz range.

I don't believe there is really a BAD time to buy silver, but there are definitely better times than others!

Everyone has their reasons for buying PM's. Some are collectors, some are investors and some (like me) are doing it to protect against a weak US dollar and fiat currency. The way I see it is that even buying at $40, silver is trending up so you will find it to be a good investment.

I still need 2 2011 ASEs for my sons collections. $40 is a heck of a lot better than $50.

Edited at 10:36: Just bought 10 of them with some Libertads just for fun. Love this hobby!

I really liked silver at $34 last week but anything under $50 is a bargain IMO. Everything is still being priced as if silver was still in the upper $40's, heck ASE are still $50 each online. Keep buying

When silver goes above $50, you will look back on $45 silver as a bargain.

When it hits $75, $50 will be a bargain.

Etc..., Etc..., Etc...

Like all of the guys above said, buy when you can. Every price is a bargain right now when you are able to trade a rapidly deflating, fiat paper currency for real, cold, hard silver!

To buy or not to buy... that is the question. To answer it, ask yourself WHY you are buying silver in the 1st place. There are many good reasons for buying and few for not buying.

As a bullion collector, I like to buy a little silver here and there as I can. Price is less of an issue for me because I want to build a silver hoard over time. This is just like dollar cost averaging into a stock or mutual fund position.
