Coin is white. Close to unc... Can't find out which one it is. Checked this site: http://www.ikedollardoubledie.com/

I can't find one sale on Heritage or ebay. PCGS doesn't have a price guide for it... I don't get it?

PeaceMan,

That reverse looks awfully familiar to me. The some what flattened
top east facing end of the "S"
The Serif Split on the top left corner of the "E" of E Pluribus Unum
and the splits in the islands to the south of Florida on the Earth.
Those are the first things I noticed when I found one last year at a
small coin shop.
It was only after I got home and was able to look at it with a loupe
closely did I notice the complex doubling on the top serif of
the "1" in the date. and the milder doubling in the
"In God We Trust"
It turned out to be a 1972 D DDO-1 DDR-1
Some good shots of In God We Trust and the "1" in the date
might help.
Here is a link to a confirmed 1972 D DDO-1 DDR-1 for comparison
at the Ike Group

http://ikegroup.sslpowered.com/ikeg...0eb700116393

And here is a link to the album of one I found for further comparison

I wish you the best with this, One of my favorite Doubled Die Ike's

Thanks. OK, I've looked at all of the links and now I'm even more confused. Maybe someone here can help me attribute it:

First, my pet giraffe, for the "1" I only see doubling here. No crack down from the "S" like Stewart's...
Ike:-1972-D-DDR

Next, the "R" in LIBERTY. The bottom left front tip is doubled (only)

Finally, the "7" in the date that is notched.

I only have a 16X so bear with the pictures. Going to inspect other areas now. Tell me what I need to take a pic of and I'll try it.

PeaceMan,
See if you can get some shots of "In God We Trust"
I can see the complex Doubling in your Giraffe "1"

I did not mean there was a crack in the "S" of States
but that the top of the "S" at the end of it at the serifs
looks like it was cleaved off
or close to mechanical (Strike) Doubled

By the way Nice shots

My mistake
I now see what you are talking about
"Crack Down to the "S"
I think that is just a die scratch on mine

Having problems getting good pics. I see zero doubling here. It's a worn die too.... Here's a pic of the obverse:

Peaceman,

You are right there is no doubling that I see in the
"In God We Trust" like the 72 D DDO-001 DDR-001
But there is doubling in the "1" and "7" in the date
also The "R"
Which leads me to believe it is another DDO DDR die pair
Not sure which I am by no means an expert
The reason I know about the 72 D DDO-001 DDR-001
Is because I found one and posted it on the Ike Group
site and the very helpful gentlemen there helped me to identify it.

Regardless you have a nice variety coin there

Peaceman:

Does your coin have a die dot in the upper left side of the O in OF on the reverse?

Here is a pic of the OF on the 72d I just found this week-end and it has the die dot.

http://ikegroup.org/1972Dddo1-ddr1.htm

* I found 2 of these in the past 2 weeks and both coins have this die marker!*

Can you post a pic of the O in OF?
If you got this marker, your coin is difinitely a 1972D DDO / DDR001 (IMHO!)

Chuck.

Chuck, Good job with the die marker picture
That will help him determine for sure.
