I put a thread on the error forum and got no responses, but can't believe I am the only one who found some sort of problem with the 2006 ASE Proof coin, specifically at the 7:00 O'clock position on the rim of the coin. Has anyone else found any sort of mint or post mint problem with the proof coin. I checked four sets and three had the problem. It would be nice to hear from anyone who has found the same problem. I will send them back to the mint, but first want to know how many others have the coin problem. I guess it is possible I am the only one who received the "problem" coins in my shipment.

Hi Berry
I just looked at mine and can not see anything. Is it on the Obverse or Reverse?
Any pics?

Just checked mine and all ten seem to be ok I cannot see anything with the naked eye at around 7 oclock on the rev or obv.
I have a standing order so it may be that mine are close to the begining of the production run before anything happend to the dies.

Before you send them back, can you post some pictures? You might want to hold onto one if it is a substantial mint error, and the population of the error is very low...

There's been a problem with the mint shipping and packaging coins properly. Were the coins inside the capsules?

Tim, I'm sorry, I never answered your question. It is on the obverse side and will have some photo's up in a few days. There is a raised portion on one coin and also have 5 others that are "scraped" all basically in the same area on the rim of the coin. I am only having a photo of the raised portion photographed. Thanks to the other people for their input and hope they read this posting.

Berry brought the coin to me and I saw it. There is what appears to be a small triangle on the rim at 7 o'clock. On one coin he showed me, the area appeared to be raised as a Cud; on the others it looked flat. I have his set and will be posting pics to this thread as soon as I am able.
