Hello! I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to jump in.

I have an 1878 CC Morgan that appears to be VAM Long Nock 2A. The front is very clearly II 2 with the nose chip, and smaller chips I can see on the VAMWorld picture at her hairline by the curl and between the point of the neck and the lowest left star.

The reverse is where I am getting confused. The reverse appears to be just like the B1a photos I see on VAMWorld except that I do not see any chips in either C. I do see the smaller (unlisted) chips near the top right of the "E" in ONE and near the bottom left of the "D" on DOLLAR and the die cracks all line up.

So, is it possible to not have the chips in the Cs but still have a 2A? I'll post a closeup of the CC as soon as I can figure out this forum code thingy.

I think I got it to work! Anyway, the discoloration you see in this very grainy image is either dirt or toning. It is not raised at all.

I can't figure out how to take decent pictures that are small enough to upload, so I uploaded to Flickr.

I am trying to get good closeups but don't really have the necessary equipment. These are scans.

I don't know if this picture is any clearer, but I thought I would give it a try.
