Here is a die break progression. I bought 5 1888-Os several months ago for bullion. I took a closer look the other day and found these die breaks.

Hope you find these interesting.

Those are nice coins.

Fwiw - I bought 2 coins from a seller (Pcgs 63 and 64). Both were the same VAM's with different stages of die cracks and interesting to look at for comparison purposes.

Hi Larry, many people tend to over state the New Orleans mint mark ARE ALL weak strikes, when I first looked at your coins I was keying on the die break and the severity of them which is awesome, after your reply I Have to agree, these coins show the classic signs of a weak strike, many would think the area around the ear is worn in combination with the chest feathers, however the eagles legs tell the story of a flat/weak struck coin,,,,they are simply flat, and lack any detail....and its not just the ear hair its the area around it that seems to be worn it also has no detail, while all of the rest of the coins OBV and REV has detail. and minimal wear, classic signs of a weak strike....Nice find!
