Couple of very different Barbers up for your grading pleasure. The 1909 was purchased raw, while the 1916 came out of a problem-free ANACS holder for my Dansco 7070. What are your opinions?

F-15 XF detail? Looks too lustrous for the wear. Could be pic.

I'm with bigfredd. IMHO, The first one is VF-20/25 easy, and the second is solid AU, probably 53 or so with a potential cleaning.

The obverse on the first one looks VF-20 IMO, but the reverse is really worn for a VF.

The 1909 looks like a solid VF25 to me, but I am having a hard time grading the 1916. Like shadowcreator stated, it looks to lustrous for the wear. Can you post a close-up of the Liberty band?
Also what kind of ANACS slab did it come in? yellow, blue or the older, smaller ones?

It was a very difficult coin to image, so this is the best I can currently do of the Liberty band: Also, it came out of a yellow ANACS slab.

I'd grade the 1909 VF-20. with ShadowCreator about the luster on the 1916.

The details on the 1916 look to be about VF30, but I know a lot of later date Barber quarters were weakly struck. With the amount of luster, I would say it is might be a XF45 or AU50 coin.

Are there many 1909 Barber quarters with the mint mark of "O" around? I received this the other day, and am curious if there are many floating around? It is extremely worn, but most of the features are very legible. If you wish, I will post a pic.

VF25 and, I would have to guess on the other like the others said, hard to grade from these photos. I'd say AU50 with, at one time, possible PL fields.

If you find one, expect to pay a lot for it unless you want to wait around for a long time.

I forgot to post the holder the 1916 was in. Definitely a weird coin. I'm sure it was net graded. I don't know how a Barber with this much wear had that much retained luster?
