I definitely see some toning. Also, they appear dirty, so would have to say a little of both.

I would agree that you have some dirt and some toning as well. You could try an acetone wash (no rubbing) to see if any of the dirt dissolves.

I say both as well . but the first one looks toned do to an old cleaning , just like a few that I have. Or atleast the photo makes it appear that way to me.
