Okay - I have some foreign coins. I've picked them up over the years and I doubt there is any "collector" quality coins in the lot. Could be but I wouldn't know if they were. Example - I have probably $30+ dollars in Canadian coins. Also have euros, pesos, etc.

Due to where I live getting them to a place to exchange them out is difficult. Plus I'm not 100% sure a bank that exchanges foreign moneys would take this much coin at one time.

Once I hit the minimum posts - what is the likelihood that these coins would sell?

Just wondering.

Thanks

Why don't you try ebay for your coins.?
You need 250 post over here to be able to sell. That's a lot of time.Especially if your coins don't worth so much.If they are modern circulated coins, still used in their countries, then they worth exactly their exchange rate.Try xe.com

Most banks will exchange foreign currency to US$ for a fee. I don't think the banks are too worried about the quanity you bring in.

You have to be carefull with those depending on exactly what you mean by "over the years". If those years are excessive, some of those coins could be Silver. You should really try to figure out what you have before selling or offering them for sale. Sort of like what you hear on that TV show "The Antique Road Show" where people find or get a thousand dollar item for $0.50 or something like that.
Not knowing what those coins are you too could end up selling something like that.
Why not start with the World Coin forum right here and start asking what they are and what they are worth. Oddly enough by the time you know all that, you will have enough posts to sell them if you still wanted to.
AND there is a Canadian forum too.

I've yet to see a bank that exchanges foreign coin... Currency, yes. Coin, no. Even then, the exchange rate is absurd and too costly.

You would have better luck selling them on ebay or Craigslist.

The lobby coin counters at TCF will take zinc Canadian pennies and cupro-nickel nickels...

The Canadian pre-'97 cents and pre-82 nickels do sell for a premium because of their metal content.

Foreign exchange places won't take coin. Too heavy for the value if they have to ship it back to the country for redemption.
