I finally ran out of room in my desk for coins and need to find a solution. I asked myself what will hold a lot of coins, lock and be hard to pack off or walk away with? Well I found it. This cart weighs in at 165lbs empty and has locking drawers with roller bearings to hold up to the weight of coins. It's great. It stores everything I need(flips, scissors, stapler, ect)i also threw in some of them Natrasorb bags to keep out the moisture. I'm mostly going to just store my Lincolns rolls and other roll finds in it. No high dollar items or any of my Dansco collections. They all still fit in my waterproof/fireproof safe for now. But it wont be long before I upgrade to one of them big ole Fort Knots safes. Does anyone have a favorite brand of safe?tell me before I go shoppin again$$$$ Thanks Shane

I really like that. How much did it cost & where can you buy one?

I bought mine for $250 but that was from a independent tool company. I'm sure you can also find a craftsman one from sears. Just make sure it has the ball bearing drawer slides. Here is sears top of the line model for $250(picture). If you plan on holding more then a 4 or 500 hundred pounds of coins you should look at a Snap-on product and they cost around $500 but I myself would be looking for a large fire proof safe for the same price or a little more. But these carts are handy for put your coins in order before permanent storage(incomplete coin sets)

Oh also there is other brands also. I will list quality/price first Snap-on,Mac tools, cornwell, craftman,us general,husky,stack-on,ect Just google tool carts. I would look at a home depot, costco or sears. They are way to heavy to ship plus they might be pre assembled.

thats very cool, my only concern would be the oils and chemicals they put on tool chests to lubricate and protect from rust. I wonder as those chemicals evaporate, what long term effect they would have on your coins.

However if you have them all in sealed plastic (PVC Free) I don't see a problem.

Like is looks like I am not the only one that gets carried away buying coins :)

I bought a gun safe and bolted it down the the basement concrete floor and not that is running out of room.

I have allot of rolls, supplies just sitting on shelves in the coin room and one cabinet with some more supplies and albums.

I think my wife will blow a cork if I get another gun safe. well need another for the guns :)

Very nice tool coin box.

That is awesome! I would have never thought of putting coins in a toolbox/service cart, but now that I see it I think it is a great idea! Those Cornwell carts are really nice quality too.

Awesome! lol I'm in the same boat as Brucec. I had to buy a gun vault and bolt it to the floor. Not like it could be carried away with less than 6 people though. Its just getting sad the amount of protection one must take these days in order to keep your own possessions safe.

So a criminal breaaks into your house looking for coins. Not being into tools, he just gives up and leaves telling all his crook friends how you have nothing worth even looking at. HMMM, good idea.

Very nice!

This thread prompted me to think about my tools. I do have some well stocked tool cabients.

Continuing with this thought process, I have come to realize that my tools are worth more than my coins.

How did that happen?

Unfortunately, I think tools are on the crooks minds too. They can be valuable and easily sold. Not to mention the ease of rolling them out of the garage in a nice cart!
