Sooo ... there was a modicum of interest in my initial 'comparison' post ... so we'll try it again.

Recall that I am pursuing a complete 50-coin Classic US Silver Commemorative set from two opposite ends of the grading spectrum ... PCGS MS examples and honestly circulated examples.
I suppose that makes two type sets if I ever get it done! Anyways .... have 46 of the 50 in MS and 26 of the 50 in circulated grade.
Have not seen much discussion anywhere on the circulated classic silver coins .... so I thought it would be great fun to show the 'comparison' coins in my set .... if you missed the initial offering then you can check out my well-circulated BTW here:
https://goccf.com/t/88295Up for viewing today are my Type Set entries for the Texas Half Dollar ... a very popular design and IMHO a classic piece of USA coin design art.
A tip of my modern collector hat to coin designer Pompeo Coppini who has proven without a doubt just how much detail can be elegantly crowded into the reverse of a 30.6 mm coin!
Fun fact is that many folks mistake the obverse for the reverse on this coin ... the 'official' US Mint position is that the Eagle with Star and Date is the obverse.
The Texas Half Dollar series spans 5 years and a 'complete' Texas Half date/mm set would include 13 coins. Total mintage of the entire series (all 13 coins) is only 149,661 coins.
Sooo ... to the coins.
First up is my circulated 1934 Texas Half ... I grade perhaps F15. Mintage of 61,463 accounts for 41% of the total coins produced in the entire Texas series. Gotta love the 'circulated cameo' appearance of the darker fields against the worn design elements.

Compare to my 1935-S PCGS MS67 CAC ... blast white and hammered strike. Mintage of 10,008 coins.

Hope someone out there enjoys this set of lovelies!
