Die chip/crack. Head eventually to be a die break/retained cud/cud and retirement. It's just a matter of time.

I think its "PAD" post alien damage.
Lot's of crop circles done back then in the wheat fields.

Sometimes such minor chips bring a modest premium, like under a buck.

Further down on the stalk, we used to call them wheat smut.
