Are the ulra-rare, hard-to-find and valuable 1909-S VDB Wheaties not so rare or hard to find?

Out of all of them displayed forsale ,, only the ones that are graded by a top TPG can be considered as legit, the raw coins have to be looked at as counterfeits until authenticated,,

The few that I clicked on did not have pics of sufficient quality to use for authentification.

there are many thousands of counterfeits 09-S VDB's

It isn't that they are ultra-rare since almost a half million were made. It is just the fact that it is the "obtainable" (vs. the unobtainable 1804 dollar) holy grail of coin collecting - THE 1909S VDB! It is probably the one single coin that all coin collectors would love to add to their collection- demand and hype are the real reasons for the prices you see.

If you go to a coin show, you will find hundreds for sale every time. Some are graded, some are raw. Unless they're slabbed, people are hesitant to buy them on ebay (and rightly so) but they can always be found at coin shows.
