I received this coin from my Mom's cousin when he returned from the Vietnam War in the early 70's. I believe it to be from Thailand, but I'm not sure. Could anybody help identify it? Thanks.

It is indeed from Thailand, but I don't have my references at hand to identify the denomination and year, although I think it is a one baht.

definitelty Thai 1 baht. At todays exchange rate of 30 baht to the dollar it's worth [as currency] is about 3.3 cents. As a annual traveler to Thailand I keep track of this pretty closely.

Familiar to me. I have spent them in Thailand during my travels years ago.

The year (in Thai numerals) starts on the reverse at about 2 o'clock and reads 2505.
This is the BE (Buddha's Enlightenment) numbering system and dates from 543BC.
So 2505-543 is indeed 1962 (as Tam said) but they were minted for 20 years with that common date.
