My bank always gets them but I am not sure if banks get them the day they are released or does it usually take a few days? Report this Post to the Staff

Banks can get them before the release but aren't allowed to give them out until the release day. Hopefully my bank can get some, the past few coins have taken a while before their order was filled. I put four ones into the machine, three of the dollars were John Q. Adams and one was a Grant. I was amazed that they had them on the day, the car wash operators probably ordered them well in advance. Report this Post to the Staff

The car wash operators probably didn't order anything, they just picked up dollars at the bank. Even though the banks are not allowed to distribute the new dollars before the release date, every time a new one is released there are stories of people getting them early because a bank didn't follow the rules.
