OK - I've got two LWCs from the 1910's. I want to determine if they are 1914 D. I don't think so, but I didn't want to plop them in my pile of old wheats if they were! Any guesses as to the dates? This should be fun.

COIN #1:

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

tilted to see it from another angle:
191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

COIN #2:

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

191_-LWC---What-Do-You-See?

I want to say that they both look like 1916 D, but I don't know enough about LWCs to tell you anything beyond looking at the dates. Perhaps there are other cues which show you the date, but I don't know those.

To me the first looks like a '16, and the second looks like a '12.

I have a few cents that are worn like that, and 2 Mercury dimes. is there any thing I can try that will bring out the date a little better?
Thanks
James

That first one really looks like a 19xx to me.
Most here say 1916 and before they said that I would have said 1910 but after all the 1916's, I too start to see the 16. MAYBE.

Looks like both are 1916-D, however the first one is nearly impossible to tell.

Thanks for all your opinions. Looks like 1916 is the most popular guess.
