Anyone ever do classic coins by year rather then by type, as in all the coins minted for any given year? Scouring the internet, haven't found any albums which would fit that category. So I'm guessing by now any album put together would have to be a do-it-yourself type thing?

For starters I'm looking at the years 1787, 1828, 1857 and 1887 which are some key dates relating to my genealogical research. Thought it would be a nice/challenging project trying to match my ancestors to the coins of their day.

I don't have any albums at all, just airtites and slabs. I keep seeing threads re Dansco so I assume they're the best. Suggestions? Anyone have any albums like this?

Dansco has a years set album. I have not seen one in hand, but I think
it has slots for small cent through Half dollar, I think it is Dansco 7091.

I think you will have to look into a custom job.

GoldRush58 is correct the Dansco 7091 album is for year sets and has ports on each row for the cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar. There are five pages per album and each page has four rows.

Item number: 250822292785 on ebay is a "Library of Coins" Year set. These are awesome albums that were made as long as 50 years ago (approx). I love them and have a bunch of raw sets I am working on in these albums. I have had one with Walkers for about 10 years now and some are starting to tone very nicely. Sorry I don't know how to link the auction to this post. Someday I will learn more about these newfangled computers, Bob
