I know exactly when I started - March, 2005. I got a set of the then current State Quarters with a folder from Littleton. Since then I've picked up a little bit of everything <coinwise>.

I've only been seriously collecting for around 7-8 months now. I've really learned that reading a lot and buying reference books are a great investment of time and money.

I have only been interested in Coin Collecting for about a year. My father passed away last year and I now am trying to go through his collection and learn all I can. His interest appeared to be Morgan SD. After going thru his coins, he appears to be a hoarder versus a collector. LOL

I have been seriously collecting since the early 1980's.

Nothing quite like buying money!

Been collecting coins for a little over a year. Got started on Mercury dimes. The set started to get too expensive for my budget when I hit a certain point so I started on my Franklin collection which is more than halfway now. Those are just a couple of the many things I have started in that years time but the two types I am working on the most.

I've accumulated coins since I was about 12 -- also inherited my father's small accumulation of coins in 1978 -- but nothing deliberate until 1999 when I bought Whitman folders to put quarters in. I always dreamed that some day I would be able to own a gold coin, and three years ago I found out there are plenty of models that are pretty affordable and acquired (on November 4, 2003, but who's counting?) my first gold coin -- a 1886-S half eagle. Been getting serious about it ever since.

I originally started when I was about 8 or 9 years old, then lost interest around age 14 when I discovered girls. Restarted with a US Type Set in 1976, but then had two kids, mortgage, etc., so I stopped again. I only started seriously collecting about 5 years ago, more or less.

I started in '95 with the interest in the doubled die cent. Variety cents are still my main interest but enjoy much more now.
